Don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about a few strips of ribbon as I am about these rosettes...two great souvenirs from an eye-opening week at Hickstead. To top off the adventure, Paul Gaff also came 3rd from another big field in the British Novice with Chip yesterday to finish off the weekend. I certainly was not expecting any prizes when we signed up for all this at the last minute!
Can’t thank Paul and his team (special kudos to Amy for all her help last week!) for all they did the last fortnight. Paul did a fantastic job building a whole new level of confidence over the short time he had Chip; it was obvious he would be happy to jump from anywhere with Paul - though he didn’t have to, as Paul never missed! And Chip certainly didn’t think twice about anything when I jumped him...a very nice feeling!
An amazing experience, and one I’d never have been prompted to even consider before...fingers crossed we’ll be able to do it all over again next year.
Thanks again everyone...I’ll be buzzing for quite a while I think! (Chip, on the other hand, will be chilling out a few days...he’s a tired pony!)

So, one very long weekend, one very tired horse, and one very tired rider later, me and Morse are recovering from a training camp with a big step up in height and technicality! Safe to say, it was a big ask for me (not so much Morse), but I’m so proud to have done it and finished on a high. Yes there were a few challenges and we have come away with a lot of things to work on / towards (ie. lateral work when stepping up to novice dressage), however I’m so happy to have seen improvements, not only this weekend, but since we started having lessons with Paul back in December. I love this horse millions, and he has taught me so much already. Thank you Paul for all of your help.

Going to be buzzing for quite a while after a great confidence-building lesson with Paul Gaff. Lots of fun watching Paul jump Chip over a track a bit bigger than I’ve ever jumped him, and then having a spin myself with the fences a bit lower. Fantastic feeling and fun fun fun!!! Thanks Paul.

Amazing first jumping lesson on Hugo this morning with Paul (PG Sport Horses) using my free lesson voucher that I won as the runner up prize in the Easter raffle.
Paul is such a brilliant instructor, caters for all abilities and was really good at building up the fences slowly with me and Hugo. Can’t wait for our second jumping lesson with Paul next weekend!

Simply an amazing day. With amazing people and their wonderful horses.
Paul Gaff you've been the best thing to ever happen to cruise and I. I can't thank you enough for sticking with us and helping me to be the best I can for cruise.

Great morning at Somerford training!!! Thank you very much to Paul Gaff for a great lesson and catch up. Henry was jumping really well, lots of things to work on. Hope to come down soon to PG Sport horses for some lessons, Paul has a great set up down near Buckingham. I would recommend Paul to anyone to go down for a few days training. Paul has experience in Eventing, dressage and showjumping and I am really fortunate to learn from Paul and pass it on through my own teaching to others. All set up for Aske on Saturday now.

"Paul has done a great job teaching me on all my horses, bringing out the best in us. Paul is extremely encouraging and I always leave the lessons feeling like I have been pushed and feel very confident to tackle my next competitions. Not only does Paul have a great structure to the lessons making sure you achieve your aims but he give you clear exercises to work on at home and is really helpful planning your competition schedule as well as rest periods for the horses. An all round great coach!!"

Burt was awesome last night - fab lesson with Paul Gaff working on our technique. It felt amazing to actually be able to ride towards fence rather than just slowing him down and he started to make a decent shape when I softened my arms. I’m really looking forward to getting back out competing now - so pleased with how hard this horse tries for meI'm a paragraph. Click once to begin entering your own content.
